Access to the preserve is
from a parking area on the west side of State Route 144 just south
of the Albany/Greene County line. between
the Hamlets of New Baltimore and Coeymans.
You may reach the Hudson
River Interpretive Trail via a short walk across Route 144.
From
the South
To reach the Hannacroix Creek Preserve or Hudson River
Interpretive trail from the south, use exit 21B of the Thruway.
Take route 9W north
2.2 miles.
Turn right on State Route 144 (at Albrights Garage).
Follow
route 144 North for about 3.3 miles back over the Thruway and thru
the New Baltimore National Historic District.
North of the hamlet of
New Baltimore you come first to the sign for the Hudson River Interpretive
Trail on the right, and just beyond it on the left the sign and entrance
for the Hannacroix Creek Preserve.
From the North
Take Thruway exit
22.
Turn right on State route 144.
Follow route 144 south thru
Coeymans (maybe 9 miles).
The entrance
to the Preserve is on your right just past the Hannacroix
creek, over the Albany/Greene county line.
From Albany
Either follow Pearl Street out of Albany until
it becomes Route 144 and then follow the directions above,
or take
Route 9W
south to Ravena, at the second light in Ravena turn
left onto route 143.
Follow Route 143 1 mile to the fork.
Bear right onto
Westerlo street.
Follow Westerlo down the hill until it intersects
Route 144.
Turn
right onto Route 144. Follow it less than one
mile to the Preserve entrance
on your right.
